Oil major Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has teamed up with Delhi-based company Home Mechanic to launch a mobile car service facility in India. The home installation called Home-Mechanic IND is initially being rolled out in New Delhi, with plans to expand to other major cities across the country, including Mumbai.
The “Mobile Garage Service Van” was loaded with various equipment needed to repair and maintain a car – including a generator, air compressor, oil dispensers, oil collectors equipment, diagnostic tools, pneumatic tools, washing equipment and vacuum cleaners. It will also have other machines that are usually found in a regular workshop. The first such mobile van has been placed at one of India Oil’s outlets at Panchsheel Enclave in Delhi.
The company claims that it will provide more than 300 types of car services at the customer’s doorstep; all they have to do is book an appointment on its official website at home-mechanic.in or through a WhatsApp support number 985 986 4141.
Customers will need to provide the year, make and model of their car, along with their contact details. The company will provide a pre-estimate of charges, including the cost of parts, and upon agreement, send a three-person team to the customer’s door. The service will be available from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day of the week.
“Home-Mechanic is the premier provider of over 300 automotive repairs and services at the customer’s doorstep. We created the mech-mobile using high-tech equipment that helps our technicians solve 90% of vehicle problems at the home of customers,” said Kunaal R, CEO of Home-Mechanic, as quoted by Autocar India.
